Demonstrating Commitment to Ethical and Sustainable Practices with SMETA Certification

Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines prioritizes implementing responsible practices that reflect its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The company values the trust its customers, partners, and stakeholders place in its ethical and sustainable business practices. In line with this commitment, Franklin Baker proudly announces its Sapphire Plant’s successful completion of the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) in July 2024.

SMETA is a certification process that ensures ethical business practices across supply chains, focusing on Labor Standards, Health and Safety, The Environment, and Business Ethics. The audit, conducted every two years, demonstrates Franklin Baker’s dedication to improving operations and implementing responsible practices for long-term sustainability.

The Sapphire Plant in San Pablo, Laguna, established in 1926, is Franklin Baker’s oldest facility. All three company plants regularly undergo the Sedex audit as part of its ongoing effort to meet sustainability goals and uphold its responsibilities to people, partners, and the environment.
