Community Health Caravan by Franklin Baker, SCSCFI and San Miguel Global Power Brings Free Services to Brgy. Coronon, Davao del Sur

Barangay Coronon in Davao del Sur became the beneficiary of the first-ever Community Health Caravan by Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, in partnership with Sustainable Coconut Supply Chain Foundation Inc. (SCSCFI) and San Miguel Global Power.
Held on November 12 at the Coronon Barangay Gym, more than 800 individuals availed various services, all free of charge, such as medical consultations with free medicines, basic dental procedures, eye check-ups and even haircuts. A blood-letting drive also happened simultaneously while school children received hygiene kits to take home.

The Community Health Caravan is a joint initiative among several public and private partners coming together under a shared goal of promoting community welfare, health awareness and collective growth. Over 100 volunteers contributed their time and expertise, from medical professionals to representatives from the local government, the army and other partner organizations, while company employees assisted in ensuring the success of the event. Through this activity, Franklin Baker reaffirms its commitment to shared progress, focusing not only on the farmers and their families but also the communities surrounding their operations.

“Improving access to community health service is a shared and collective responsibility and the conduct of this health caravan is an expression of that shared commitment of various partner institutions in this undertaking as partners in development. SCSCFI is truly grateful to Franklin Baker and all the partner-institutions, primarily to San Miguel Global Power for their support, in making this undertaking possible,” says Joemil Montebon, Executive Director of SCSCFI.

Established in 1968, Franklin Baker’s Emerald Plant operates in Barangay Coronon, Davao del Sur and continues to be a vital partner in the company’s mission to building a more sustainable and inclusive coconut industry.
