Emerald Plant Employee Among TOWER Awards Honorees

For the second year in a row, an employee from Franklin Baker’s Emerald Plant in Brgy. Coronon, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur was recognized at the annual The Outstanding Workers of the Republic (TOWER) Awards.

This year’s honoree, Mr. Norvin Adang, a mechanical leadman, developed an innovative and sustainable solution to an operational challenge by replacing synthetic lubricants used for low-speed apron rollers and guides with the company’s own coconut by-product (paring oil).  This initiative not only generated P1.6 million in annual savings but also addressed recurring supply and maintenance concerns.

(For me, this is proof that even ordinary workers like me can make a significant contribution. For my family, this is a great honor and joy. For my fellow workers, this shows that our efforts matter and that anyone can create positive change.)

This consistent recognition of Franklin Baker employees reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting employee innovation and promoting a culture where ideas that can create meaningful change are encouraged and valued.  More importantly, it empowers every employee to continue developing initiatives that can drive significant and lasting business impact.

The awarding ceremony was held last May 28 at Fairmont Hotel Makati.  Joining Mr. Adang during the event were Franklin Baker’s VP for Human Resources, Marianne Esther Guinomla; HR Business Partner, Charles Vigonte; Engineering & Maintenance Manager, Christopher Solidanio and Plant General Manager, Gemmo Garcia to celebrate his achievement.
