San Pablo Plant Concludes Centennial Celebration with Service Awards

Franklin Baker’s San Pablo Plant marked its centennial anniversary last month with a week-long celebration that highlighted sustainability, teamwork, community service, and employee appreciation.

Carrying the theme, “Isang Daang Taon na Kalidad, Kabuhayan at Kalinga sa Pamayanan, Inspirasyon sa Susunod na Henerasyon,” the employees participated in a variety of activities including coconut tree planting, an Amazing Race-inspired competition and a blood donation drive, which reflect the company’s enduring commitment to growth, unity, and service to the community.  The celebration culminated on May 30 with the Service Awards, recognizing employees for their years of service, dedication, hard work, and valuable contributions to the company.

San Pablo Plant General Manager Mr. Ronald B. Torneo, a 15-year service award recipient, reflected on the significance of the milestone:

“Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay hindi lamang pag-alala sa makulay na kasaysayan kundi pagbibigay-pugay sa bawat taong naging bahagi ng ating tagumpay. Nawa’y magsilbi itong inspirasyon upang lalo pa nating pagbutihin ang ating paglilingkod, pangalagaan ang ating komunidad, at ipagpatuloy ang kulturang may malasakit at kahusayan.”

In addition to employees, Franklin Baker recognized its trusted manpower service providers for their invaluable contributions to plant operations and their continued partnership, support, and commitment to the company’s growth and resilience.

Franklin Baker Chairman of the Board Mr. Juan Victor I. Hernandez joined the celebration through a video message, recognizing the contributions of employees, partners, and stakeholders who have supported the company throughout its 100-year journey. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, commitment, and strong partnerships in sustaining the company’s success across generations.

“As we journey together into a new era of rapid and bigger changes, may we continue to embrace change and move forward stronger together. More importantly, our success is because of our people, our employees and their families who have been part of Franklin Baker’s 100-year journey.”

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Paul Rene Z. Tayag also reflected on the company’s enduring legacy:

“Looking back at the last 100 years, it is nothing less than a legacy. Very few companies in this world can outlast a century. It is the spirit that keeps it alive. Pagtibayin natin ang ating paninindigan at tapang ng loob para sa kinabukasan ng Franklin Baker.”

Established in 1926, Franklin Baker’s San Pablo Plant has become an integral part of the city’s heritage and community. As it celebrates a century of operations, the company remains steadfast in honoring its people, nurturing its partnerships, and upholding the values that have defined its success, carrying forward a legacy of excellence, service, and malasakit for generations to come.
