Following the successful culmination of the SDG Coco Project in November 2024, Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, along with representatives from GIZ, Symrise and The Absolute Company, spent time with farmers in Camarines Norte from May 26-29, 2025, in preparation for project’s second phase.
The 4-day immersion started with courtesy visits to public partners, Philippine Coconut Authority and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Camarines Norte, both expressing their full support of the project. The team then spent time with the farmers, listening to their stories of how they began in farming to their recent milestones, the challenges they continue to face, and their aspirations, all while expressing appreciation for the support they received during the first phase of the project. The visit was capped off with a tour of Franklin Baker’s Sapphire Plant in San Pablo, Laguna, completing the full supply chain journey.
SDG Coco + builds on the achievements of the first phase, this time focusing on Regenerative Agriculture and climate-resilient practices and will run for 3 years. The visit aimed to provide partners with valuable firsthand insights, ensuring the project creates relevant and lasting impact to Filipino coconut farmers.
